Angry Bird vs Vinnie

Things just haven't been right with Vinnie since Thursday morning. He was acting ok but just wasn't eating at all. He had diarrhea when I took him out Thursday morning so I figured he just had an upset tummy. After coming home from work yesterday and finding out he still ate nothing I thought he was back to his picky self with his food so I added some shredded cheese to it and he gobbled it up.

Overnight he woke me up with cries to go outside only to make it halfway to the door before he puked up all his food from earlier. It was 3am and all I did for the next 5 hours was stare at the clock waiting for my vets office to open at 8. Being taken in right away they took his temp and all was good. Then they took an X-ray and found a blockage in his small intestine. It was obvious he swallowed something he shouldn't of. He is going into surgery at 245 to remove the blockage which I'm guessing might be his angry bird squeaky toy. He's beaten the hell out of that thing over the past couple months, now it's getting back at him. I'm asking the vet for it back and plan on framing it in a nice little shadow box. Weird huh lol. I think I worry about him more than I did my kids when they were younger.

I understand completely, I've trained for years looking after my daughter to get ready for the olympics of looking after my sweet Bailey. Her soulful looks send me into overdrive. I'm always trying to figure out what is wrong or what she needs. I'm a helicopter mommy, Again!!! Blessings on your Vinnie. I sure hope you had insurance.

I am so sorry to hear about Vinnie. :( I am the same way with my pup. So he just went in surgery how long do they expect it to take?

Just got "THE" call from the vet. They got him in a little early for his surgery and he had a knotted sock stuck in him. How he got a knotted sock confuses me. But all went well with the procedure. I watch that little guy like a hawk but it's obvious I let this one slip by. Unfortunately no I do not have insurance for him. It's costing me close to $750 for this so I'm sure the insurance will be my next call.

Does he get to come home tonight? They are sneaky little devils that want everything they are not supposed to have. I am glad surgery went well

I get to pick him up in the morning. They'd rather keep him overnight for observation due to the nature of the surgery. Thanks for the well wishes. Miss my boy so much and it's only been a few hours lol.

Vinnie is doing pretty good all things considered. He's being spoiled and is loving it lol. When we picked him up he looked so sore and sad. But he been improving all day and is getting around great even tho his belly was cut open just 24hrs ago. Trying to keep him still has been a chore. I'm posting this from my phone so I really hope the pictures post correctly :)

Aw poor baby. He'll be back stealing socks again before you know it the little monster. Kaz eats everything and I too have to really watch him. I found some pretty interesting things in his poop while doing poop duty. Sometimes I have no idea why on earth he finds elastic bands and waterbottle caps appetizing?

How is he doing today?

Vin is doing surprisingly well. He's moving around like he doesn't even have a huge cut and stitches on his belly. I need to keep his food consumption on the low side for a couple days and he's not liking that much. He keeps sitting by the fridge thinking if he sits there long enough I'll break and feed him again lol. I just feel so bad for him.
