A day at the pond

yesterday i took the dogs to a pond just up the road from my house. They love this and the water is close to freezing and Duncan just loves to soak his old bones in the pond.
Had to keep the leashes on because there were some people farther down at the creek.
Ever see a dog smile like this?

Yes we love it. And what is really nice is it is about a 5 or 10 minute drive away.

Best thing in the world for me was seeing the look on that old man's face. It's hard for him to get out and around but he brings up power and strength from who knows where when I tell him we are going to the pond. He almost makes the jump into the SUV. But I still give him a boost. He even knows to let me help him out of the SUV and does not struggle at all when I pick him up. Soon as he hits the trail to the pond you see a little skip in his step and a light in his eye. This is Duncan's pond. (snif)
