5 month old puppy pees where he sleeps?

Hi all!
I'm new here so please let me know if I am doing anything wrong.
Now my 5 month old english mastiff (Loki) has passed kindergarten and is on intermediate training. He's potty trained for the most part and only bites when he's very hyper. So in short he's a super well behaved pup. However, I've noticed that he will randomly pee on his bed, or he will go into his crate and start peeing. I don't get why he keeps doing this and it is frustrating me to no end!
Any and all help is absolutely needed.

I went through the peeing on beds with one of my girls and realized that she was actually marking. She didn't pee in her crate once crate trained but she did once pull her bed out of her crate and pee on it. I took away all the beds for about 6 weeks and got her fully housebroken. The just last week I bought a new bed for the girls and as soon as she came in and saw it (came in from going pee outside) she walked right over to it and peed.

Is he peeing in his sleep or walking over to his bed to pee? It sounds like instead of indicating to you that he needs to go he is using his crate as his bathroom spot. Is it only his bed/crate? How often are you bringing him out? Does he go pee outside and then shortly after go in the crate?

Also, if it's not behavioural it may be medical...I had a male Rottie pup about that age who started leaking pee while he was asleep or just lazing around and it turned out to be a UTI.
I have a 15 week old EM pup who is almost but not quite reliably house-trained but if I'm not vigilant he'll pee on a throw rug, never on tile or wood floors. He's never gone in his crate or on a dog bed, just on the throw rugs in the mudroom or back porch. I've taken them up until he's 100 percent. If you're not using an odor neutralizer, yours may think it's OK to go on his bed since he's gone there before and the smell is still there.
Also, do you have a photo of Loki? We like puppy pics. :)

I agree with Liz_M. We had a hell of a time with Sage and turned out to be a UTI. Got that under control and the potty training ran much smoother.

Yep make sure it's not a medical issue also clean the bed and crate use some natures miracle to get the pee smell out.
Watch your baby and if they look like they are going to pee stop them and redirect, take outside ang give the potty command.
If they go then do the potty dance and make a big deal about it.

Medical checks make good sense. Our Cavalier had repeated diagnosis of UTI that as it turned out were fatal kidney stones.

Our EM Hercules used to do this as a younger pup (no medical issues in our case). He seemed resistant to being in his crate. After much trial & error, we found that removing his bedding and leaving just the tray worked. It was uncomfortable for him to urinate without it soaking in so the habit stopped immediately.
