Lol I told him a few days ago he could never have a CO but we could consider a TM.

We're practically on the border of TN, NC, VA.

Here: http://www.tibetan-mastiffs.net/ Susie's been breeding TMs for over 20yrs, she's massively passionate for the breed. She's almost always willing to have visitors who want to know more about the dogs and is always willing to answer questions by email. She's also an "alpha bitch" who will tell you exactly what she thinks, and if she doesn't think you've got it to be a TM owner she'll say so.

No brindles?!? Sorry guys, I just don't get the fawn, although it does look nice on an EM. But brindle bullmastiffs! So pretty.

I didn't even think about gender. I would have probably only one female, as I do now. Previously I thought that if I added another dog it would be a female, but now I'm really glad we stuck with males. I don't think Annie would be thrilled with a new female in her kingdom. I don't know if I could get the same structure I have now though. All the boys know that Annie is top dog.

Yeah, I guess the coat coloring is a personal preference. But, even with my clothes, I choose solids over prints...not even sure why that is.

I will definitely say I think fawn gives a sort of "clean" look, like a man in a nice pair of khakis and a white shirt. Brindle and sable and other mixed "prints" ( ;) ) sort of have that "call of the wild" type look to me.

I have to admit here that I am pretty crazy about blue and blue and white dogs. There are several dogs on here that are blue and I just can't get enough of their pictures! I would love a blue dog.

Gotta say I'm not as much of a fan of brindles either, but my fila girl has made it grow on me

Omg I knoooooow. I love your new boy. I'll let you know first thing if we win the lottery and move to seclusion where we can have all the dogs we want. :D For now, four is really doin' it for us. Can't imagine why we feel that way. :p

Also, I SEEN the happy face of your other goofball! That's brotherly love. How could you deprive that boy of his bud!

No probly not! ON the other hand, if you're in MD (IIRR?) you're not that far from eastern VA, where Apollo's breeder is located (Himalaya TMs), so take a day trip and go meet a TM, which is (first off) alot more possible than a CO, and 2nd Susie's TMs tend to be on the softer side and are much more likely to be less of a culture shock!

Ruth, last night I had to convince B's sister (my in law) that she too should never own a CO. I tried to turn her on to a pyr or a saint instead. This is like people who want huskies for their looks X1000. Too bad pitbulls look scary so people shy away, but Big Fluffy Monster just needs cuddles and love to make it the best dog ever.

I mean, that's how training worked with your lionxchow, amiright? :p

Yup, thats it, love and cuddles and plenty of off-leash time to prove our trust, with the occasional door to door salesman for dinner of course ;)

I've started telling people they can't pet Athena. Yesterday, a family came up to us and I told them to pet D'Argo but not Athena. Of course, their little girl walked right up to Athena and stuck her hand out. Which is fine. Athena loves kids and she was a very polite little girl. But the parents seemed completely unconcerned. o_O

I think they should have panicked just a little.

At least she stuck her hand out first, I've had little ones barrel right up to Apollo and wrap their arms around his neck  and yes, the unconcerned parents make me freak more than a little!

I'm with ya! I love the brindles. Angus has sort of made me biased. With that being said, I am the complete opposite of NYDDB, I am always sporting wacky patterns. I'm almost always wearing bright colours and loud patterns and have zero regard for if the colours or patterns go with each other or clash with each other. I just grab what I like and throw it on. It's interesting how we can draw connections to how we like to dress, with the colours/patterns we like to see in our dogs. :p

In a perfect world where it would work 100% with minimal effort..

1. Frenchie
2. English Bulldog
3. APBT
4. Rottie
5. Presa
6. TM

And because I'm not hip to all the abbreviations, what a CO? I only ask because I never seen the abv. And always like to research/learn about a new breed.

I think it stands for Caucasian Ovcharka, but I could be wrong. I'm working on the abbreviations, too.
