When to switch to adult food?

Hi! I have a 7 month old bullmastiff, he weighs 96lbs. We currently have him on Blue Buffalo Large Breed Puppy food, he have tried to switch him gradually to the Blue Buffalo Large Breed Adult (at the advice of the breeder) and he began throwing up everyday, so we went back to the puppy. The vomiting has stopped but now he goes poo A LOT, about 5-6 times a day. I have heard so much conflicting information about when to switch him, and now I am completely confused :) What are your takes on when to switch him? Also, is there any brands of food that you recommend for him, my vet says Blue Buffalo is no good, so when we do switch him to adult we were going to try to switch the brand of food also. Thank you so much!

Do a slow transition. Feed 75% of old food and 25% new food for about 3-4 days. Increase to 50% old food, 50% new food for 3-4 days. Increase to 25% old food and 75% new food 3-4 days. Then start 100% new food. This should help with diarrhea.

If the diarrhea continues, stop all kibble for a couple of days. Feed him boiled chicken or hamburger with rice to reset his system. Make sure he's drinking sufficient water.
