Your puppy is very cute. What kind of mastiff?

Mine would be going nuts. That said the deer here don't run if they see a dog in a window, they either stare or ignore.

When she saw them at the tree line and barked, they froze in place, and stayed there for about 15 minutes...probably assessing whether it was safe to go forward into the open or not. When they finally broke cover - Yep, she went berserkers! There's quite a large herd that usually traverses the yard twice a day...quietly and unnoticed by Her Barkyness. Not sure what she might do if we happen upon them while out for a walk....

LOL! Think it through now, hold the leash or let go?

It might also depend on what type of deer they are. White tail flee while mule deer charge. I've had to save Jiggers once when he tried to chase a mule deer. Kryten thankfully isn't fast enough with enough endurance to be a threat. The park the cottage is in is a wildlife refuge area, so I would probably have to at least try to hang on - plus the deer here are much larger than they appear in the pics...so she might (doubt it) be less brave up close when they are at least three times taller than she is and stomp and huff at her...
