That's why I think they could have such a powerful bite. Some of these older Anatolian types are effin huge! Over 6'6" standing and even though it isn't a stocky breed they exceed the 200lb mark.
Yeah i agree, but 750? Have you seen a lion, if this has 690... Look at him beside a kangal. I think the lion didn't give it his best bite, i think they would exceed 800 given there hardest bite. I agree a kangal may be as powerful as you say, but i don't think they'd beat a wolf, that too by over 100lbs. Neither does the kangal have the wild instinct of a wolf.
I think the Lion bit is purely speculative. The Kangal in that pic is a small one not like the ones tested. Kangals live in a near wild state (or used to) and hunt for themselves often. I know we have a member here that is more versed in Kangal speak. Besides we are not speaking of instinct, just bite force.
Yeah but i don't see what could be added to a dog, that would beat a wolves bite, possible a stronger jaw that i believe. But 750? That's crazy, i bet some turkish guy was having a couple beers and blogged it on every site he could find. I'll be honest though, kangal's are some massive dog's and you may just be right, but the Boerboel remark is no way real, i'd say they have smaller jaws and heads than the english, ddb, neo.
The boerboel is a rare breed, and extremely powerful. The are growing with popularity in the US at a fast rate. More and more is being learned about this impressive breed. It is now said that a full grown male boerboel can easily bite with a force of 800+ and that's not even when provoked. These dogs are native to sounth Africa they were breed to protect against lions and hyenas and have proven sucessful, not always but they do win the battle frequently enough to be noted. If You were walking in the woods and approached by a lone wolf, a boerboel is definitely what you would want beside you. Even female boerboels have been known to take out a lion. If you research the breed you would be quite impressed.
Do tell. let us know what you find. 800psi is quiet impressive. This would make it the strongest known bite of any domestic canine even freater than the Kangal dogs.
