weird question

My husband and I just got a new Bullmastiff puppy last weekend, he's the fifth Bullmastiff we've owned, and we love the breed so much. One thing I've noticed is that all our Bullmastiffs, whenever they are very cozy and happy and content, quiver their lower jaws slightly, and at the same time the muscles on their forehead kind of contract and quiver. I love it when they do this. It means they are very happy, but I've never heard anyone else mention it and was just wondering what it is? Has anyone else noticed their Bullmastiffs doing this?

Interesting!
My EM quivers when she's dreaming (chasing rabbits)... but otherwise, I haven't ever seen what you're describing.

Congratulations on the new puppy!

I thought it was weird when Dante does this! But he does the same thing when he's feeling content and satisfied after playtime or a meal and wants to lay down and rest. I know this because he always puts his head on my feet when he rests. Then I feel his jaws/head quiver a little. I thought it was just him. Interesting!

My BM chatters his teeth when I come home at the end of the day sometimes. I thought maybe it was some kind of nervousness even though he seems excited.

Jiggers chatters when excited all the time. His forehead doesn't move but that could be due to his breed mix (not a mastiff). He has tight skin without wrinkles.
