I spoke on the phone today with an interstate breeder, who has a litter due next week! She sounded wonderful and very much concerned about the welfare of the dogs/breed and very helpfuil with information etc. She picks owners based on what they can offer the dog, rather than taking depoisits and making waiting lists, so I am hoping that she liked me. It really depends on how many and what they are like as to whether we are offered one (as we are after a pet for our family with two young children) but I know that if it is meant to be, it will be. We are happy to wait for the puppy that is perfect for us, but still very excited that we may be seeing photos of our potential new baby as early as a fortnight away!
They have double bred the dam (AI with a USA stud, and a follow up with their own stud) - so it could be one of two fathers, but all three dogs in the mix are gorgeous creatures, and the breeder said she stayed with the breeder in the US and the dog they selected from there has the most beuatiful temperament they had seen in a long while.
Hopefully it won't be long before we have one of these wonderful dogs in our care. There is also another local breeder who will be having a litter in February so we will check them out too.
