UTI

hi,

I’m worried my 6 month old CC may have a UTI but I’m not too sure because we all know google isn’t a vet. So I was just wondering if anyone has had a dog with a UTI before and could tell me some of the symptoms they noticed. Any tips are also accepted.

And of course if I notice similar symptoms into tomorrow or it getting any worse I will take him to our vet. Just thought I would ask here for any insight because it could be nothing!

My experience: Accidents in the house, like she can’t hold it. Excessive urination, squating a lot but not much coming out. You can sneak up behind her and stick a white paper towel under her while she pees to see if there is any blood in the urine. More licking of her girly bits than usual, discharge from the vulva. Strong smelling urine, mine had a weird metallic smell near her girly bits.

My dog had them a lot when he was younger. Blood in the urine and urgency to pee. Please take your dog to the vet with a urine sample.

Blood in the urine is often a later symptom, so don't discount a UTI if you don't see any. Even if you don't take the dog in, you can drop off a urine sample.
