My 11 week old Cane Corso Franny has had a rough go since we brought her home. One morning we were having breakfast and she peed in the house which i mean isn't abnormal for a puppy, however she continued to squat multiple times after the first large puddle of urine. On the 2nd + attempts to pee only a dribble or nothing would come out. We took her to the emergency vet and they were unable to get her urine sample. They prescribed antibiotics for a week suspecting a uti. They said if it did not clear up within 24 hours take her to our normal vet. The behavior stopped within 24 hours, finished her 1 week of antibiotics and everything seemed fine. 5 days later she did the same thing, peed in the house and then continued to try and pee. Took her to my actual vet as it was a week day. They examined her and said she had some discharge that could be vaginitis. Sent me home to collect a urine sample which I did. They said she did have a UTI and they noticed lots of crystals in her urine. They prescribed 14 days of antibiotics which she is on day 7 but still peeing and then continuing to try to pee following the one good pee. She is also peeing with no warning where she was starting to tell us she had to go out before. We switched her food which they suggested but they did not suggest the brand change, they said to try and we will see. We switched to Hills Science Diet Large Breed Puppy lamb meal and rice which came recommended from a friend who specializes in nutrition for dogs however she recommended the food prior to the uti issues. We are to finish the 14 days of antibiotics and then to collect a new urine sample 4 days after she finishes the meds to see if the crystals have cleared up and if the uti returns. I love her so much already and feel really bad for her. Any help on this matter would be really appreciated! We live in Canada so anyone who has recommendations for products that may help and are available here please let me know!
