Tyson is in the hospital!

I took him to TX A&M in College Station last night. His front left leg was swollen huge! The vet gave him antivenom thinking it was a rattlesnake bite. They called me this morning and said it hasn't improved so they are going to do more tests including Xrays. So worried about my baby!

Vet just called and said he is worse and sending him to critical care. Has a fever now. It looks like it is a rattlesnake bite. He's going to get more antivenum and antibiotics because he now has a bacterial infection. Thanks all for your concern.

I'm sorry i took so long to update. He is in critical care now and after the antivenom and antibiotics his fever is down. They don't see any major tissue necrosis yet either. It is just wait and see now. He hasn't eaten in 2 days the vet said they tried to feed him all kinds of food but he won't eat. So i will take some food to him tomorrow. On top of the physical problems i know he is scared and depressed. I work from home so he is with me 24/7. This is the first time he has ever had to be away from me. Hopefully when i see him he will want to eat. I was going to see him today but the vet said it would excite him and probably wouldn't be good for him. I should get a call in the morning updating me on his condition. And i will try to remember to post on here then. Thanks again all for your thoughts and prayers.

Continued good vibes for your boy! You have him at the best place in Texas even though it is hard not being with him.
