Two surgeries @ once ?????

Hey everyone... as you know, if you have been following my other posts, Jenny will be going in for eye surgery in the next couple weeks.

The vet said that he would also spay her at the same time...

I dont see any problem with it.... but I just wanted to know what everyone thought about that ??? To much at once ???

I am having my female's stomach tacked when she gets spayed, they can do two surgeries without any further stress on the dog. Of course, recovery will be harder but with proper care and rest your pup should bounce back quickly.

I am not a fan of spaying that young personally.
There are arguments for and against it, mainly the removal of certain hormones can affect the growth and development in large breeds. I have always always allowed one heat cycle prior to spaying, BUT that means you have to deal with a mess and be HYPER vigilant for that 21-30 days.
That said, it is definitely easier to have her put under 1x rather then 2.
It is a personal choice I believe, many get their dogs fixed young.

Hey chris.... how old is your pup ?

Thanks for the input Cody..... I know there is a two sided arguement to this but I think for the sake of the pup, it might be better to go through all the trauma at once.... its bad enough she needs to lose her eye right ?

Im worried about the growth and development part though.... I want this girl to be as big and strong as possible. I will have to read up more while im at "work" haha A.K.A... sitting at my desk all day ! Thanks guys
