Show collars and leads

I'd like to see and hear the different type of leads you use on your mastiffs in the ring. If you have a favorite please share the reason why you prefer it.

Thanks in advanced

I have a couple of different types, all different chain types, nylon collars and tried a kangaroo lead from my friend bully. I didn't think the kangaroo was anything too special so didn't want to pay the price for it. I use either the nylon or chain type depending on the dog. I also have small nylon leashes but am looking into small leather leads for this year.

The 2 I like are the mendota martingale show lead http://www.showdogstore.com/mendota-martingale-show-leads.aspx
it has a piece of leather that locks it in place so it won't tighten. My girl is very handler sensitive so when a lead tightens she feels as if she is being corrected and slows down. Great for OB sucky for the conformation ring :D
I also use a gold serpentine choke chain on the dead ring, is looks flashy and frames her head :) be sure if buying a metal choke that it has been soldered. They are more pricey, but with the big guys the last thing you want is your choke breaking in the ring. I have a short nylon lead I use with the choke.
Good luck

I do like the mendota leather leads . I notice there's different ones. Ever worked with the slip lead ones? Check this one out it's combined collar and lead.

We currently are using a chain one and i see more of the ddbs (majority all euro ppl)on you tube using the leather slip lead kind and wonder what's the difference?

I personally like simplicity but wonder if this is going to work the same as the chains?

Because the Mendota have the leather "lock" I think they work as well. They won't slip up and over the head. I love mendota products. I swear by the large dog walker lead, lol. Our problem with the slip lead, we do have one, is the tightening. Aurora is too sensitive for me to use any lead or collar that will tighten. She thinks she is being corrected with any small amount of pressure, constriction, so she slows down. Lol, is great for OB, she is quick to respond, but harder o work out in the ring where it has to be tight, lol, slowly but surely we are getting there.
