Hello guys,
Could you give me advice on should I get a cane corso? I have been around big dogs all my life as well as little dogs. I have kept german shepherds mostly but have also been around rottweilers. I got a chance to potentially buy a male cane corso that is 6 months old. He is ICCF registered. I came to visit him. Very playful and love to jump around. He will be staying with my mom as well as her 10 year old female mutt. I know for sure the mutt doesn't like other female dogs, but she gets along with male dogs.
I did research on a cane corso. I have read that they are very confident but a bit pushy. Harder to train them? I train my german shepherd with a clicker. The owner of the puppy only teach him to sit thats it. Hes an outside dog, but I want to keep him as an indoor dog. IS 6 months too old to teach him tricks? He is around 71 pounds right now, so almost as big as my mom's german shepherd that pass away. He has a lovely dark brindle color with a very small white patch on his chest. He let my mom and I pet him. I also have a little niece that comes over sometimes. She is about to turn 2. I have read that cane corso are very territorial? I really love this puppy, but not sure if he will get too big to take care of.
I never actually seen a grown cane corso. Are they about the same size as a rottweiler? Google has a male around 110 pounds, and male rottweiler weigh more. However, most videos I have seen on youtube shows the corso as a huge dog. Looks bigger than a rottweiler.
