Remi and adolescent angst

My sweet darling cuddly nearly 10 month old 100lb puppy has tried to be a teenage brat. She has been trying to see what she could refuse to do when commanded but...I always win. Yesterday she chose to try to exert her dominance over my 13 year old sheltie. No mouth on her part but she had him pinned and I couldn't get them separated alone (another trainer and her co-owner was there and WE won). Remi did find out that the old sheltie still had all his teeth and he was not reserved about using them. Poor Remi was still startled by the "training" session which immediately followed and showed her exactly where she fit on the hierarchy.....way further down than she thought. She has 2 days of further lessons with an adult male BM and adult male Neo. They routinely remind her she is lower than they are and she best remember that. (she stays there with her co-owners while I have medical treatment every month for few days) I suspect I will have a slightly less arrogant puppy coming home but will need to remind her of who is the queen B here.

I am almost 6 weeks behind you in the puppy raising department and my Major is starting to become deaf, but if he has a rope tied to him his ears work a lot better. They can be trying puppies and Major really wants to use those front feet now.
You are lucky that you are able to do some training and have a couple big dogs to work with also. My 100 lb pup is a pushover with dogs that aren't affraid of him.
Stay after her, YOU ARE THE BOSS!!! Keep her humble for a will longer and she will be perfect!

Poor, abused, mis-understood Cinderella... I mean... Remi. :)

LOL.
Love those brat times...
We used to have to rattle the treat jar... that opened up the ears for us! Other dogs are a bit more forward with how they deal with bratty behavior, for sure. HA!
Good thing she's such a cutie! The big boys probably enjoy having her around. :)

Princess Pumpkinhead aka Remi thought about being dominant against old Eddie again but rethought as soon as I cleared my throat today. Ugh and Penn must have given a few "pointers"
