Really? I'm not a good person or dog owner

Seen this today after giving my BM a spoonful of beans (He loves pinto beans, strange) and I wondered if they were ok to eat.

Good Nutrition for Healthy Vegan Dogs

My Major if given a choice would eat 3 pounds of earth killing hot dogs before touching any healthy hummus, beans or a plate of veggies!
How sad of a picture is that on top of the website. Makes me really want a vegan dog.:lolbangtable:

I always kind of wondered if vegan dog owners fed their dogs vegan.
If so would their dogs given a choice of a bowl of vegan food vs a bowl of hamburger or sausage which he would jump on first.
My girl Zoey enjoys some vegetables and fruits, my girl Abby does not unless cooked with butter or bacon grease and even then sometimes just sucks the butter or grease off and spits out the veggies.
Zoey and I will sit down and share a bowl of green beans while Abby walks away and lays on her bed.
They do both however like refried beans.

What the hell is this crap all about? Have you seen the last fad of putting cats on a vegan diet? The poor cats suffered and died. So now people will try this with dogs?

I'm with you here AR, I'll stick to being a bad feeder and giving dogs the meat that they are designed to eat.

My dog does go crazy over carrots and celery (almost any veggie really), but I only give them as occasional treats as he doesn't digest them, I can always tell when he's had veggies because they are visible in his poop.

Don't ever feed sweet corn.
Max used to go nuts for tuna and sweet corn when I was making my bait.
We called to results unicorn poo. Little golden nuggets hahahaha

I feed my girls carrots and bananas daily. I figure the chunks of undigested carrot help express their anal glands so I don't have too.

The day I can't enjoy a steak or salt/sugar kicks my ass put me in the ground is my outlook, and yep my pooch is going to enjoy his steak also.
Guess he does love veggies though as that is what BBQ sauce is made of and he would eat a brick if you put enough on it.

I have been a vegetarian for the past 15 years. My pets have no such ideals, lol. I could never imagine imposing a vegan (or vegetarian for that matter) on a dog or, even worse, on a cat.

Holy shite! Thanks for the link, it gave me a chuckle. It's really interesting how people ignore the fact that dogs are carnivores. Did you know there is a vegan movement to feed infants and toddlers, totally vegan? Sigh.

I have many friends who are vegans: they understand the different types of plant proteins needed for a healthy ADULT diet. I am all for this personal choice. Putting this lifestyle choice upon dogs or kids who need an animal protein in their regular diet, pisses me off.

I am a long-term vegetarian. While I might be guilty of feeding my dogs carrots, apples and lettuce from time to time... They eat raw for the most part. It is the most disgusting thing ever (especially the green tripe) but why does me being a vegetarian mean my dogs have to be? That's not natural for them and for my DDB especially, it's not good for them not to have their bones and incredibly, INCREDIBLY gross animal innards.

The best thing I ever found was someone who would mix up my raw feeds in single portions and cryovac them for me. Cut open, feed with a spoon... don't even have to touch it!

Come on over to the dark side KMD have a cheeseburger.
Funny thing is my wife's cousin was a vegetarian from her teens until she was about 50 but she fed her dogs and kids meat, one day she was just craving a cheeseburger out of the blue.
One cheeseburger lead to some bacon, a little sausage, some chicken etc. now she is no longer a vegetarian.
She still won't cook it or handle it but if you invited her to dinner and served burgers she would eat it.

Haha no cheeseburgers for me! My unfortunate Haloumi addiction means I will never be a vegan though.

Major like bacon grease, butter and any other meat product out there. When I am feeling especially mean I put a egg in his food bowl! Yes straight from the fridge shell and all. I have a little fun at his expense, he can't seem to grasp the concept of biting it. He will play with it for a while and sometimes swat it with his front paw and get the goody off the floor, but most of the time he will just carry it around and lay it down easily and never cracking it. I will finally get it and drop it into his food bowl cracking it so he can eat it, yes the shell to. I am not a good owner:eek:

Ice cubes are a great crunch for him, maybe I need to freeze a egg?
