Puppy Age/ Weight... Going back and forth with my wife..:)

So Theo is 8 weeks today. He is at a whopping 11 lbs.

Theo was the last baby of the litter. Smaller than his family members.

My wife is concerned about his weight and that you can see his ribs, slightly.

The first week upon receiving him, we switched him from Puppy Chow Complete to Fromm Gold Adult. His transition went smoothly and took it like a champ.

With her concerns, I am starting to get concern for our four legged child.

So here are some questions that maybe the community can help us with:

1. Is he in a ideal weight for a Cane Corso? Online charts show he should be 17-20 lbs at 8 weeks.

2. Should we switch to Fromm Gold Large Breed Puppy (light blue bag) We currently have him on the Fromm Gold Adult (black bag)

3. Does a puppy at 8 weeks require for us to still moist his food in water before eating? The last two days, we noticed him not eating until he feels that it's dried out.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

I don't have a Corso, Kryten is an EM but as a puppy he was significantly smaller than what online charts gave as 'normal' for his breed. By significant I mean upto 20 lbs lighter. This taught me to ignore 'normal' and go by body condition. You do want to see the last few ribs when standing. Given that he was the smallest of the litter he likely was the runt. He will get to where he should be at his genetically determined speed.

Congrats on your new pup. Don't worry about the weight. Go on how he looks. The pups that we had varied in weight the little girl now that was very small as caught up with 2 brothers. We felt moist up until 7 weeks then they preferred dry always make sure he has water available for him. Just see if he likes it dry. Try and do him at regular meal times so he gets into a routine we fed 4 times a day at that age then down to 3.

Didnt see the food review but i would definetly put him on large breed puppy and there is nothing you can do abouth his growth genetics will do its work.
