Project "Not enough room in bed" is almost complete.
As most of you know, A third dog and a man have been added to my "pack" and because I am the crazy dog lady and my dogs sleep with me, this posed a bit of an issue as there is not enough room in a King size bed for two humans, 1 220 pound male mastiff who isn't done growing yet, 1 150 female mastiff who probably isn't done growing yet either and 1 80 pound great dane puppy who is growing by the day and expected to reach 185 or so. LOL
ANYWAY, I had already been considering how to "upsize" with the original dogs and myself and intending to wait until the move to my new house was complete because there will be a lot more space in the master bedroom there BUT with the additions, something had to be done immediately. We went and bought the exact same King sized bed that I already had and put the two together. There was the issue of the "gap" between the two and the fact that there is limited space to get on the beds because they take up too much space.
Kevin got creative and put the two together, used some plywood to be able to pushe the mattresses together to get rid of any gap in the middle of the beds, making it one BIG bed. The gap then moved to one side of the bed and we were still faced with the issue of how to get on the bed (Especially with giant dogs that we try to keep from doing too much jumping.
He figured out, took that gap and turned it into a mastiff "loading zone" that includes a nice step for them to climb up (easily) and made it look really good with some carpet. I am pretty impressed and it is working wonderfully!
I am attaching a photo. Near the "loading zone" there is still some cosmetic work to be done near the steps and I haven't decided on new comforters just yet AND everytime I tried to take the damn photo, Magnum ran through both beds and messed them all up again so you are getting a photo of beds that only have one comforter and are an absolute mess! LOL
Also, because of the angle and the doorways in the room, I had to use the panoramic function to take the picture (In order to get it all into one photo) so it looks rounded but isn't.
