Processed vs raw/cooked meat

I've known since Kryten was a puppy that he could eat raw and cooked poultry but not anything created for pets that contains any form of poultry. I thought it was odd and just a quirk of his system. Recently however I discovered that Jiggers can have processed venison (his food is venison single protien) but definitely not raw (haven't tried cooked). This has made me wonder if this is a more common occurrence than I thought. Does anyone else have a dog that can eat something in one form but has gastrointestinal issues if given processed a different way?

The raw-is-ok-but-processed-is-not theory makes sense to me.... dogs reacting to a protein their body doesn't recognize after processing it to bits. I consider humans who are gluten-sensitive or gluten-intolerant a similar thing... since a lot of gluten sources are GMO and no longer the same protein that humans evolved eating...

But... the opposite? I guess if you were allergic to 'real' venison, the processed form may be unrecognizable, and therefore ok? Seems like a good theory?

The anti-allergy kibbles out there are made with common protein sources (i.e. chicken) have been processed such that "the chicken is no longer recognizable as an allergen"... The science diet website states "how it works" is that the protein is "Highly hydrolyzed" so the body won't have an adverse reaction.

Denna's sensitivities are pretty low grade, so it's hard to pin point what's causing her issues.... just an itch here or a goopy ear there... I blame chicken, but it doesn't always follow the right trends... so, it could be more environmental... I really don't know.
