Poor puppy

My 5 month old puppy Kryten is having a bad week so far.
1- he is in a fast growth spurt where you can see changes everyday and for the first time his legs seem to hurt him
2- he had an allergic reaction to a topical ear cleaner and scratched his ears raw so now they are itchy cause they're healing
3- he is cutting 6 teeth that I can see

And as if that's not bad enough I also woke up to a very large, very messy sign of explosive diarrhea.

I had forgotten just how messy a big growth spurt can be.

Re: Poor puppy

Thats really unfortunate, and to think I am just about to start the puppy trip, this sounds like a horrible stage.

That is hilarious.

Can I hop on that train too, my pup had a rough past week as well.

What food are your feeding Bob? Could have something to do with the pain.

Ursa, LOL. :D

Poor guy!

It's rough when you know they are not feeling well and there isn't much you can do for them!

Thankfully today he has only got an occasional hitch when walking, yesterday was a definite limp. He has been a slow grower only putting on 4 lbs a week. Last week was his highest gain at 5.5 lbs and I think he might exceed that this week. While it might be nice to see something other than the size of his paws that might indicate that he will get as big as the breeder warned me of I liked the slow and steady without pain.
I could also do with out the blood and constant chewing from this many teeth.

DD I read your posts and your pup has a greater claim than Kryten.

Poor little/big guy! I thought I was imagining things when I swear I can see Homer changing daily! Good to know someone else see's the same thing. Homer hasn't had leg pains since the first few weeks we got him. Hope Kryten is feeling better soon.

He's definitely feeling better. For some yet to be discovered reason instead of walking around my feet as they hung over the side of the couch like he normally does he tried to jump over them. This makes the third time that I have ever seen him jump so needless to say he didn't make it. He got his front legs over and then his chest came down on the top of my foot. That's 70lbs bending my ankle rather abruptly. Now my ankle is swollen and I'm limping while he lies snoring on the floor. Oh the wonderful joys of owning a puppy.
