This is probably a silly question. You're feeding her 260 grams a day, or several times a day? Measured by weight, not volume? I've never fed my dogs by weight, probably because I'm in the US. I measure in cups. Since a cup is a measure of volume and a gram is a measure of weight, I'm having trouble with your feeding amount. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please, math has never been my strong point. 260 grams is equivalent to 260ml, which ends up being just a little more than a cup (US) by volume. Umit, do you know how many cups you're feeding per day and of which kind of Orijen?
Anyway, like trg said, what does her poop look like? Changing foods can make a huge difference. Even if a food is really good, it may not be the right fit for your dog. How is her body condition?
I think it is silly to measure by cup since every food has its own density. This is probably a silly question. You're feeding her 260 grams a day, or several times a day? Okay, lol. I think that the recommended feeding amounts on the bag probably reflect the individual food density. I just don't know anyone in the US that measures by weight. All of my dog food bags have recommended feeding amounts in cups. I guess it's just a US thing. I was just thinking that the amount seemed a bit light for a puppy, so I was curious. As others said, stool condition is very important. One of my dogs has tried some of the best foods available and he pooped like crazy. It took us a while to find something that agreed with him.
I try to keep food at minimum, she is now 43pounds and 3.5 months.Orijen while being a premium food is also very rich and sometimes puppies can have a more difficult time digesting it. Our pup is around the same age and I think is eating approx. 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups a day (over several meals), she was in for a check up yesterday and she is a good weight, growing nice and slowly consistent which I had hoped for because she doesn't know how to stop running like a nut and not taking chances when it comes to getting on/off the furniture, etc.
Does she sleep all the time she is not playing???my cc is 5 month old now and he eats 3.5-4 cups a day plus training treats. And he is hungry all the time, lol. His 'output' more than my adult dog of 120# and she eats only 2 cups a day.
I think puppy is growing so fast so they need excessive food amount and even recommendation on the bag showing less food as dog growing so I expect less poop after 1 yo.
