Pee'ing like a race horse!

I think its more common that we realise Ruth regarding marking. Are there other signs that go with an UTI I should be on the look out for?

Increased urination, often just a few drops, signs that it may be painfull to pee, peeing in inappropriate places....other than that you likely won't see signifigant signs unless she gets REALLY sick. And of course if she's marking that'll throw off the "frequent urination" equation. When Apollo had a UTI last fall (cross your fingers, none so far this year!) it was fairly obvious that it wasn't JUST marking, he'd walk a little stop squat (he dosn't always lift a leg) dribble a few drops of urine, keep doing and do it again, and again....very different from his usual marking behavior.

(you all are nuts, but hey, I got a laugh!)

I don't think its a UTI...I have a feeling its her marking her territory whilst outside. She doesn't do it at all when she is at home and pee'ing in the garden, its only out on walks. I will keep a close eye on her this weekend though Ruth and see if she starts pee'ing more at home to. I would think if it was a UTI she would be desperate to go all the time when she is at home too wouldn't she? Kind of like when we ladies get a water infection? And yeah....we are nuts...especially that AB...there is no help for her. LOL!

Yah, I'd expect her to be more desperate to pee in general (the symptoms are very similer between human and dog UTIs ) so it does sound like marking! Gotta love howw they keep you on your toes!

LMAO You guys are awesome with my morning coffee! If she isn't exhibiting the behaviours at home then I would expect she is marking but just keep any eye on her to be sure. We have a female that seemed more prone to UTIs when in heat or right after due to how "open" they all become during this time.

Fingers crossed that she comes in soon as I am sure Bear would love to not have to deal with the humping anymore.
