Wondering if I should be concerned with the size and rate of growth with my Corso Pup. We have been feeding him a raw diet, prey model. He has been on raw since 11 or 12 weeks old. He is 19 weeks and weighs around 69 lbs (I weigh him every thursday). I've seen some growth charts and my dog exceeds them. Below is his age and weight.
Weeks Weight
10 24
11 27
12 ~31 (estimate)
13 ~36 (estimate)
14 42
15 49
16 55
17 62
18 65
A typical daily diet is:
Breakfast- .8 lbs of ground beef heart/organ (80% heart, 10% kidney, 10% liver)
Lunch- Chicken back about .6 lbs
Dinner- 2 Chicken backs or beef heart or Venison about 1.2 lbs
Occasionaly I will substitue a chicken back for liver, fish, or squirrel. But he usually get about 2.5 lbs/day of raw. Is this too much? We are about to start feeding him 2 times a day.
We exercise and play with him daily. He is not fat, you can see his last couple of ribs.
So do you think I should be concerened with his size? I worry about hip issues.
