  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Only honest opinions please :)

Hi everyone, and thank you all in advance for your input. I am going to post some pictures of my 4 1/2 month old puppy Bella Mia. I know everyone will fall in love with her and say what a beauty she is (am I a proud mama or what? lol), but what I am actually looking for are opinions of how she stacks up as a Cane Corso. I got Bella from a rescue when she was 13 weeks old, no papers, no history, nothing except for she had her first set of puppy shots (lie), she is a purebred Cane Corso (?), and she was abused (no lie there). Personally, from the research I have done I think there is a very good possibility that she is purebred, but I am new to the breed, and even with all my research, there seems to be more than one "acceptable" look for the corsi. I really would like everyone's honest opinions, and if you are knowledgeable enough to point out some of her strengths and weaknesses, I would appreciate that also. There is no need to hold back, be afraid you might hurt my feels, or worry about insulting Bella. I am just trying to further my education of Cane Corsos at this point, and be able to answer questions about my dog intelligently. No need to sugarcoat anything; I am 100% totally in love and in awe of her; (even after promising myself after losing my last boxer that I would never love a dog this much again) I think she is one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever owned, she has brought forth the "gentle" side of me that is so often hidden from others, and she has brought such sweetness and joy into my life that I just stare at her in wonder for long periods of time. I do apologize in advance for the quality of some of the pictures (lol prob all of them), but Bella has quite decided she doesn't like her picture taken and has a 6th sense anytime my hand inches towards the camera..lol. I will try and post more pics later this evening...I'm at my daughters right now babysitting, and grandson has had enough of grandma on the computer! Thanks again for input :)

Id say yes!!!!! Ive recently been to a show and many corso from pups-adults. That in my honest opioion is a true 100% cane corso. There is zero doubt about anything from the almond eyes, feet, cheek bone structure, color build, jay, dewlap and more. Yes you have a beauty. Show her looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove and she will show you many years of enjoyment.

I would say she is a Corso :) They are a fantastic breed and impossible not to fall head over heels with. Enjoy her and I can't wait to watch her grow up here on the forum.

Looks like what I would expect from a corso. And I am not just taking about how ridiculously adorable she is.

Thank you everyone, it's nice to know that maybe they didn't lie to me about everything. Also, Bella thanks you all for the kind words said about her...I made sure she knows how "special" she is :)

Bella is a beautiful girl! If remember correctly, you are a boxer lady originally. I wonder if she's looking normal in your house yet, LOL. I still have two young boxer boys. My youngest DD can be heard telling my girl, "Ella, you're a good girl but your ears are too thick and floppy. Your nose is too long and your eyes are too small. Your fur is the wrong color. You have that long tail and you're much too big. But you're still a good girl and kind of cute."

lol Yes, I am a boxer person! Had them all my life, and as far as I am concerned they are the greatest dogs ever!! Unfortunately, they don't tend to have long life spans (not that the cc necessarily does) and almost everyone I've ever had has died from cancer, and it is heartbreaking. When I was younger I once took a 2 year hiatus from having a pet (totally unnatural for me...even my family was concerned) because of what I went through when I lost one of my female boxers...she was everything I had ever wanted in a dog....she had been shown and championed, and bred, and then she moved on to her next job of "raising" my daughter and son. When I lost her it was unbearable, and something shut down inside me. Took me 2 years, but then one day I woke up and thought "I'm ready" and started searching out breeders. It was funny, cause when I finally picked a breeder, and she called me when the pups were born and told me when I could the one I wanted up (I had first choice after the stud's owner) I went to pick my pup and ended coming home with 2!!! Brother and sister, and oh boy, what a combo!! Shilo and Sheika, and they stepped right in after they matured and continued the job of "raising and protecting" my children. Shilo was what I called my "million dollar dog" due to repeated series of unfortunate events....but after nursing that dog back to health after 2 1/2 months almost 24/7 that dog was forever glued to my side....he let no one near me unless I gave the ok...wow lol see, get me started on boxers and I will go on forever.....no better dog, especially when you are raising children. I will always be a boxer person, but after I lost my last male in Oct 2012...Max, who was my best friend and soulmate....protector....helper raising "the grandchildren"...I could go on forever about Max....but I just couldn't do it again. At least not right now...I still miss him and think of him every single day, and the pain is still unbearable....thus Bella....time to experience a new breed with no painful memories...I did a lot of research on the cc (and continue to learn more here everyday on this forum), and because of my loss of Max, and what a great gift he was to my life, I decided that it was time I "gave back" in memory of all the dogs in my life that were the greatest gifts to me....Bella needed a home, she was abused, she needed someone, and when I met her she "chose me" with the way she looked at me. I am falling more in love with her everyday....she is helping me heal...we are both helping each other. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ramble for so long....tends to happen anytime someone mentions "boxer" around me! Keep posting about your dogs, I love your posts :)
