Met this little cutie today, I've always liked Shar Pei's from afar but rarely see them up close. I was talking with the owner and apparently this strain is pretty small, wow that face is just adorable, how can i say no? Very well behaved, nothing but sweetness. I'm seriously considering one now ;)

LOL! No worries I do get the concept so ugly they are cute (I have a thing for cresteds)... I just see the health bills with those and cringe :)

Oh wow, those things are crazy looking haha. No worries, i tend to like all things odd and scary looking. I still fondly look at pictures of my old tarantula and snake collection :)

The shar-pei is on my "will-own" list for the future. Of course I'll never advocate a whimsical decision, though I will agree that they are totally neat dogs. One of the most ancient, but one on the rise in social acceptance so my guard would be up at full level if I were looking into breeders.

If you want a dog, pick one that is not the most popular right now from a breeder you take apart with a fine-toothed comb.. Odd's would be much better in that instance for a healthy pup.

Squeee! Pygmy hippos are flippin' adorable. I would give him baths and dress him in sweaters and feel terrible when he got bigger and trampled the local wildlife but i'd still ove him. Possibly that's why I seem to own nothing but problem mastiffs :X

I had a friend with a shar-pei 15 years ago. She was not a nice dog. Not.at.all. She actually put her feet on my chair, rose up, & got in my face, growling. I'd been sitting quietly for 30 minutes or more, not moving, just talking. The owner put her outside after that, then we tried to let her in & she was fine. But I had to go out to my car for something, & she would not let me back in.
She didn't like the mail lady, either. Went through a window by the front door after her.

I know some people who have one he's all huff. I won't pet him though he smells horrible from being outside for even an hour he just starts to stink. They need way to much care skin and fur wise to me!
