I dont care for most any thing in a store. It makes me mad to peal an orange from a store that taste nothing at all like a real florida orange. Plums, pears even peaches aint like they once was off a shelf.

I agree, Chuck. I've returned so much fruit to the store this year that had no taste at all. Very disappointing.

Having grown up in Florida with orange and grapefruit trees in the backyard...there is no substitute. Grocery store oranges make me irate.

I would like to know were all of our canadian grown strawberrys go, i can not buy a "grown in canada" strawberry in our grocery stores up here, they are all from california and im sorry but they have no flavor to them AT ALL and they are on the sour side cant eat them without sugar on them. I havent had a half decent tasting strawberry since i left ontario and my mom loves our golf ball size cherries, she bugs me to ship her some she lives in ontario lol maybe i should trade her some cherries for some strawberries.

I think we have your strawberries here in Texas. I have news for you they suck, they pick them before they are ripe. I wonder who has the Texas green strawberries? Makes no frigging sense to me.

Really hahahaha do they say grown in canada? The ones i remember picking is they were big and juicy and SWEET and when you bit into one it tasted like summer, never had to add sugar

I agree, TX strawberries suck! I buy my fruit @ Kroger and Fiesta Mart and I usually end up taking it back for a refund. Kroger is the worst, Fiesta Mart is little better.

There is a Farmer's Market in Coppell every Sat but I've never made it to the market. :( I keep saying I'm going to go but haven't done it yet because it's too damn hot.

They pick all fruit to ship before ripe. Thats why things are not bright, soft, juicy, or sweet. How many peaches or pears have I had that hurt my gums thier so hard

Hmm. Maybe if we grow our own tomatoes (and the dog doesn't get at them) I can finally force some lycopene down "Daddy's" throat.

"Look! The dog likes them! Just eat them!"
"The dog eats tissue."
"..."

Damn. I just refuted my own argument. (And I don't think tomatoes are good for dogs, anyway. Of course, neither is tissue.)

Bah. I'm veering off into gardening, now. YAY DIYers! (Goes back to making dog shampoo)

Pahahahahahahaha! Smart pups, aren't they!

My earlier dog (a lab) used to pluck fresh ripe tomatoes off the vine! Leaving, of course, the green ones behind for me :p

Awesome videos! My father loves Saskatoon berries for jellies but they cut down a bunch of the trees around the walking park that had the best ones and his new place doesn't have any at all :(
