Hiya all , im a new user to site and also a new bullmastiff owner !
Our puppy is called Bailey and is currently 18 weeks old. She has grew quite rapidly and is currently standing at 23 inches high (measured to her back not head ) . i was just wondering if anyone could advise me on how much more she will grow? ( not that i mind as we always wanted a big dog ) i have been reading that the average size can be up to 26-27 inches for a female but im not sure she will just grow another 3 inches in the next year or so ? Apparently her mother was a Bullmastiff and her daddy a Mastiff. She is a fantastic dog and has already learned how to sit , high five , lay down and roll over. We are currently working on the stay command but shes such a big bundle of energy its a toughie for her lol. She also loves nothing more than doing a tap dance when trying to get our cat to play with her and has recently had her first day at the beach and loved the water so much !

Welcome to the board and congrats on your new puppy she is s cutie. Sounds like she is doing well and with the mix you have there any size is possible so you will just have to wait and see what the end result will be :) Mastiffs are smart dogs and they learn quickly but can sometimes be a little stubborn so just be consistant and keep the training sessions short and fun and you will have her doing her dtay before you know it.

Welcome! She's really cute! :)
The sizes you were told are for a male Bullmastiff, females are just a hair shorter. But as always, your mileage may vary. I will tell you she's taller than a full Bully at that age, as you'd expect being mixed with I assume an English Mastiff. .. Now that I look at her pic again, she's got that super short Bully hair. Who knows! Doesn't matter, you have a great looking pup!
As always, with this breed, teach with a bucket load of treats. ;)

Thank you all for the warm welcome :) To be honest the gentleman who we bought her from only said that her daddy was a Mastiff he didnt specify what kind .He did show us a picture of both mum an dad , the dad was enormous about three times the size of the mum lol . Im not to clued up on all the different breeds of Bullmastiff or Mastiffs so i think thats how i found my way here . Yes im deffo looking forward to the surprise on what size shes going to be . Il happily post more pictures as she grows. My partner has just corrected me an tells me shes just turned 17 weeks having looked at her dob on the vaccination card ! maybe i should buy a horse saddle ....

So if at 4 months she is 23 inches she will be a big girl.
Mastiff breeds grow in height until the age of 1 (they do slow down as they get closer to the year mark) and don't finish developing until close to 3 years old. :)
Good luck with your new baby and we do love pictures

:) She is so cute! She is going to be a big girl! Our female bullmastiff is 9 months old today, and she is 23.5 inches tall at the shoulder and around 85 pounds.

17 weeks and 23 inches? Yeah, that's gonna be a pretty tall dog. Sounds like the Sire might have been an English Mastiff. That's usually what is referred to when people say "Mastiff". In this case the dog could be nearing the 29-30" mark.

Oh how i lol'd ..i wish we stayed at the gulf coast !! we are actually living in Glasgow , Scotland and the beach we went to was a little seaside town called Troon. It was a gorgeous day which was a rarity .Bailey didnt actually get to the swimming point more like the jumping over the waves and having a good splash , im hoping we get to take her again soon and find out if she gets a bit more adventurous this time . At one point she did the running gallop towards a little girl and we thought for sure she was gona get dunked but Bailey was fantastic and just ran up to the little girl and sat down in front of her.
On a different note how do you guys find your puppies are with toys ? i have paid a small fortune on lotsa random toys for her to keep her from chewing anything in the house but right now her favourite toy is a small scabby mouse which is actually our cats toy lol go figure.

Wow!!! Scotland!!! HA!!! Who knew? That beach looks just like the one in Waveland, MS where I used to live. I will have to post pics of that beach later for you ;-) How I would love to visit Scotland! (Love those accents, too :)

Sounds like the makings of a GREAT dog! Have you tried a "KONG" toy and stuffing it full of lots of goodies? It also helps to NOT leave toys laying around the house. If you leave one or two out for a while and then pick those up and slowly rotate thru the others, sometimes that helps to keep their interest. It helps to keep the toys a little "newer" and different if the access is limited somewhat. Just a thought. Regarding the mouse... maybe it's a ploy to antagonize the cat ;) or maybe it's "catnip" HA!

Yes scotland is much cooler than gulf coast trust me haha. My girl love all the little stuffed toys i got her. She never has torn them up or tried to pull the stuffing out she just loves to squish it in her mouth. Like her little reindeer she has she will just put it in between her paws and in her mouth and will fall asleep with it like that. And she absolutley LOVES bones with knobs on the end =)
