I have always loved mastiffs but had never really considered getting one til recently. After searching the web, i cld never find a breeder near me. I did find a couple a 2-3 hours away but the timing was never right. And then finally i seen a dog that caught my eye for some reason. Everything that I had read to look for in a breeder had been broken just about but i was still drawn to this puppy. At first, I thought it was impulse but now i realize it was much greater.
After driving 1450 mile round trip in less than 28 hours our mastiff was home but far from comfortable. She lived in constant fear of humans & she was underweight.
After a trip to the vet, we have changed her diet (she was originally on Diamond High Energy & fed once a day by breeder) and enrolled her in school to help her brake her fears. Progress is remarkably but still a long way to go.
How would you handle the breeder? Report them, call them out on things or just be thankful we have saved a puppy from that environment?
