Well let me start off by saying she's wonderful,
very smart, friendly doing real well but from the first day I picked her up at the airport I thought she was a little small, really it was her teeth that didn't seem dev. enough to me but what do I know, I've never gotten a puppy before 10wks and it's been awhile since I've had a puppy. So today I go to a new vet and first thing she ask's is am I sure about her age, because of her teeth she seems a little younger so I don't know why would the breeder need to lie I could have waited a couple more weeks and he already had his money, well either way she's ours now here she is 1 pic is at 8 weeks and others are from today 38 pounds 19 inches tall and she was 14 pounds at 9 weeks if I go by what breeder gave me as birthdate, steady 2 pounds weight gain everyweek

let me know what you think

I can't think why the breeder would lie about her age either. For comparison, here are some pictures of Rosa at 8 weeks and today at almost 18 weeks. She is a big girl, though - she weighed 43.5 lb at 16 weeks and the breeder thinks she may reach 120, so if Rosa looks bigger it could be that you just have a small girl.

That,'s the thing though both her parents were a little bigger than standard she's supposed to be pretty big I guess I'll just have to wait and see

Bella is beautiful and looks very healthy! Slow and steady growth is key to a healthy mastiff as they continue to grow until 2-3 years of age.

I had this happen to me with my vet, only the opposite. He thought Izzy was older than what her breeder said. It doesn't make sense to me for a breeder to lie about it either way though. I wonder if this is a common thing.

She is gorgeous. I can't wait for her to meet Major. I think dogs are like people, you never know when they are going to get a growth spurt. Apparently Major was the runt of the litter and about 4 weeks later, he was bigger than the others. He is steady putting on weight, but he is lean and you can still see his ribs.

I didn't have a problem with the vet questioning Kryten's age, just his projected adult size. He's an EM and his parents were 220lbs and 190lbs and still growing but he was a little boy compared to some of the other puppies on here regardless of breed, at 11 weeks he only weighed 24 lbs. The vet told me that I must have been wrong about the parents (or they must have been obese) and that his breeder was wrong with how big he would get (240lbs) because he might reach 150lbs. At 2y he was 180lbs and looks to be on a path to reach 230-240lbs by the time he is 4.

We had the pleasure of meeting Bella last night. She and Major had a great time playing for two hours. We were shocked that they lasted that long. I am trying to post a video of them playing, but I have uploaded some of the pics we took. Welook forward to seeing her again. She is such a sweetie and a pretty girl.
