New English Male Mastiff Puppy Pees on his Bed

Hi all, I am new here to the forum and look forward to meeting and learning more about mastiffs! My boyfriend and I just got a new English Mastiff puppy last weekend after our Neo passed away recently. He is 11 weeks old and is a very good puppy. He seems to be having a major issue with peeing on his bed. He does not pee anywhere else in the house or poop so I am so confused as to whats going on. He also has a bed outside and I have found him directly going to the bed to pee on it when he has a huge backyard to pee. He comes into the house and pees all the time on his bed and I have no idea why. I keep washing the bed and as soon as I put it down he runs over, and pees on it again. i am becoming very frustrated as this has never happened to me before. He gets a lot of attention and I have no clue why he is doing this. Has anyone else experienced this with their English mastiff? My neo never had this habit and was very easy to train. I hope someone can help me, because this is getting ridiculous!!

Apparently he wants you to know it's HIS bed!!! LOL I have no idea my old MinPin used to pee on his bed too. I took the bed away.... Maybe wait until he's older and matures a little and not as keen to mark his property...

I wonder if he was potty trained used "puppy pads"? He seems to think that this is the place to "go". I would take up both beds until he knows where to "go potty".

I used to foster an English Bulldog who did that. It turned out to be a separation anxiety issue we had to work through. Best of luck on getting it solved and I agree, pick up the bed until he learns where not to go. Another option, if you don't want him to lose his bed is to give him a raised bed to sleep on, it might help curb his behavior.

My 11 wk EM female does the same thing, drives me crazy. Ill take the cover off and wash it and as soon as I put it back on she'll pee on it again, no matter how often I take her outside. Thats her fav place to pee, and my husband's expensive office rug is her fav place to poop. CANT WAIT TO BE HOUSEBROKEN!!!

the dog was probably trained by the breeder to use paper or something...take it away, leave nothing for it to lay on. bring paper outside w/ you for him to go to and he should use it. then spill the pee from the paper on the ground so it will smell like his/her pee on the ground and it should start going to that area to relieve itself. goodluck.

Just started having this problem too. My 5 1/2 month female is fully potty trained and hasn't had an accident since she was 11 wks old. Well we booted her out of our room about a week ago because she snores so dang loud and my husband couldn't take it anymore. So we blocked off the hallway and made her sleep down with our other dog. Which she seemed totally fine with. Never whined or anything. Then, we let her back upstairs the other night to sleep in our room and she immediately goes to the memory foam mattress we have on the floor, turns around a few times, then squats and pees. I immediately "SHSD!" her and she stopped and looked at me like "What's up?". I asked her what the hell she thought she was doing and then made her go outside. So she of course just sat on the patio for the next ten minutes taking in the view, not peeing. WTF?
So now hubby says she's REALLY not invited upstairs again. UGH...
