I'm still looking into this breeder. I think the language barrier is what's giving me a second thought, I can't quite understand what he's trying to tell me...

It took us several months and BlackSCC is so on the money. When I was looking at the puppies I kept falling in love like a little highschool teenager. My husband would tell me " you ALWAYS say omg i love this one lets go see this is the one etc etc " making fun of me. lol It's puppy fever... I'm sorry to say but I think you have been infected. lol I initially wanted an all black CC. You know what they say tho, they sometimes wind up picking you, and even if you wanted blondie, if u bond with them..u fall in love.. and even if they are purple u forget what u first were going for. I wanted an all black to match my all black cat, all black lab but got my little grey brindle of joy :)

If you see one you love, digest it, sit on it, and keep browsing, if you circle back and have not falling in love with another one then u know it is for real.

If you get one in the states standard that I noticed is shipping is like $300-$400. I dont know your budget but I would try to find somewhere that you can go see and check out for yourself. go with your hubby.. lol, they seen to knock sense into us when we get fogged up with all the cuteness.

Good Luck!!!!

Also be aware of the new regulations that have been put into place in the US, I don't think are you able to purchase a pup sight unseen and must infact go to the breeder to pick your puppy up. So just be aware of that when planning to purchase in the US as I know it has been brought up on some other pages as making life a bit more difficult.

Depends on the breeder and what certifications they have and how many "breedable" bitches they have, but yes, shipping a puppy "site unseen" just became MUCH more complicated.

Has anyone heard of "Lakeview Cane Corso".. Steve Mance is the breeders name. He contacted me on Facebook from a cane Corso announcement page. He has a litter due this month. I've talked on the phone with him and I like the knowledge he has. He sent me his pedigree on both parents..

this is the mothers pedigree.

He is a little north of us but I don't mind traveling for the right pup and breeder! If we choose to stay with him, I would be going to see his place and all his dogs. The puppy would be coming home about the same time my hubby would :) so that works out!

Here's a picture of his male

I didn't save the photo of his female in my phone..

Any help would be appreciated!! Thank you for all the advice so far and I looked forward to reading more!!

I haven't heard of them but took a quick look at their website to see their health screens if they are active with their dogs but I am not seeing anything listed, so be sure to ask about that stuff. Again don't take their work for it ask to see their certificates of health testing.

I have heard nothing good from Lakeside. There was a member here who had a pup from them, but if I recall the temperament was not what she hoped for. As for the formentino pup, that is a color that pops up from time to time, the pup looked like it had full pigment in the nose. If the pedigree is accurate then is from old Italian lines Michele Bocci is a vary well known old breeder, with some amazing dogs/lines originating in southern Italy. However your best bet is to slow down and research.

I can't agree with these 2 highlighted portions more! It is very easy to make claims on webpages, I see it all the time. Actually seeing proof of people getting out and being active is very different. Ask what they have accomplished with previous litters, what they are currently working towards as well as the health certificates.

When I said active you do know I meant showing, working or competing right? Not just them out in the yard with the dogs.

Yes, I know. Our cane Corso are used as tracking dogs for hunting killed game. They do agility classes. Hoping to get the new female into showing. We are very "active" with all our dogs. Protection training. And they love the beach too!! :)
