Born nov 29th 2013. Arrived home Jan 24th 2014. Exactly 8 weeks old.
Bonus is that we learned the first night. If he whines, TAKE HIM OUT NOW. So was really surprised at 8 weeks he was pretty much potty trained. Ya there have been a few opsies.
Other surprised was his size.
See a lot of posts about is he to small. Well at 8 weeks and 1 day old, right at 20lbs. At 9 weeks 25lbs pounds.

He is getting taller and alot longer pic are from his 2nd day home.

Will post some more pics in this thread, later today, of him.

Official name picked by grandchildren and better half. Is Scrunchy Mouse. Mouse for short.

Anyone have advise on how to measure at withers, as he is mr. belly flop as soon has he heard the tape measure. tried to get him to stand by a wall to mark, but not working at all.

To measure him, I'd already have the tape measure out and open within arms reach of a wall you can measure him against. Lead him to the wall with a treat maybe, then get him to stand up against the wall holding a treat in one hand and use your other hand to find the top of his shoulders and use your hand to mark on the wall how tall he is. Then grab the tape measure with your other hand and measure from floor up to the hand you used to mark the height. You should be able to do it quickly.

20-25 lbs at 8-9 weeks is definitely not small. :)

Ya, small is not a issue. Keeping a eye on the little ball of energy, on the other hand, omg. He is fearless. Wants to be on the bed or couch with you, and tries to launch himself off either, anytime the grandchildren walk past.

My lil guy Odin (EM, BM mix) was born on the 23rd. Weight is the same...last Wednesday he weighed 28.2 lbs...it will be interesting to see if they grow at a similar rate to one another!

Congrats on the new adorable puppy!!! :) As for measuring...I sure can't help. It is the most difficult thing for me with my two because they are trained to sit for a treat and when they are told to "stop" or "hold still" as well. LOL They do know "Stand up" and will do it but once the measuring tape comes out they want to get it and when I say "Stop" they sit.......I just wrestle until I finally get the measurement or take them by surprise and measuring is something I do very rarely. :)

Sully was right at 20 lbs at 8 weeks as well, which I guess is the smaller side :S (or so Ive been told) But.8 week size means nothing! I stopped measuring Sullys heigth, I find it too hard to get an acurate measurement

This is absolutely correct, at eight weeks unless he is severely undersized it really doesn't matter a whole bunch. Out of my last litter the smallest was 25 pounds at eight weeks, today, at 17 months old he is 180 pounds. He is still the smallest male out of that litter but he looks great. Porportion and balance is just as important as size, imo.

Your new pup is a cutie

I can never really get my dogs to stand still so what I did was measure the bottom of the table to the floor and it is easier to gain an idea of how tall a particular dog is when they walk by the table.

yup Ive seen it first hand, Sully was 20lbs at 8 weeka, so on the smaller side of average. At 9 months he is176, so now on the larger size for his age :)

I don't have a weight for Kryten at 8 weeks as I got him at 11 weeks but he weighed a whopping 24 lbs at 11 weeks. He just turned 2 and weighs around 180 lbs, and this includes a long stretch where he was losing weight instead of gaining (medical).

A few new pics of Mouse today at 10 weeks. Trying to get some of him outside playing in the snow, but I swear he knows when the camera is coming out, and it's butt in the snow along with his face.

Well he got weighed today and at 10 weeks 1 day he is 29.7lbs, which IMO was all length and height growth. He actually seems a lot slimmer.
