Hello,
My name is mike I'm new to this board. I fell in love with this breed. I have had dogs my whole life and am llooking for a new one. I've been In cOntact with a few breeders but want to make sure i find a reputable one. If anyone knows some good breeders inthe Midwest I would greatly appreciate it.
I am in Michigan. Thanks for your replies.
Take care

Hi Mike,

There are several of us corso owners on here :) The easiest way to start is to narrow it down to dogs you like, go on some websites and see the dogs you are interested in as breeders I might recommend might not have the type of dogs you like. Find some dogs you like the looks of and narrow down the kennels that carry them. You don't have to necessarily stick to your area as most breeders will ship a puppy to you and most breeders are more than happy to talk about their favourite thing, their corsi :) If you have kennels that you would like to know if anyone has experience from you can post them here and ask people to give experiences with them or to PM you if they don't want it public.

Good luck with your search and let us know if we can help.

Cheers,

What kennels are you looking at?
My dogs come from a breeder in the Midwest :)
However he doesn't breed for sales. He breeds for himself and his vision of what he is striving for as far as the Corso is concerned. He keeps a few pups, the rest go to friends with a like minded view of what the breed should be as far as type and temperament. If there are any pups after that, then they will go to pet homes. However I doubt he will be breeding for the next few years, as his litters are seldom.
As Mary said above, do not limit yourself to a location.
Hell, I drove to St Louis to pick up Aurora and Iowa to get Black Jack from Calgary Alberta (4300 miles the first trip and 3740 miles the second). Personally I prefer to go to the breeders to get my dogs over shipping. I want to see the dogs and how they are in their own environment first. I know many people can't do that, but if possible I always will.
Actually I know quite a few breeders that insist on it.
Good luck with your search :)

Best of luck on yoursearch. It is important to buy the breeder first, and then the pup. I am in the Chicago area, and 12 years ago got my first Corso from Tucson, AZ and my current pup from Shauna at Castleguard Cane Corso in CO.

Yup, know of them.
Her picture of Chaos is probably one of the most well known CC pictures out there.
Good luck with your search :)
