I'd hate to admit cuz I know how people feel about the subject but he is coming from a byb. We had looked at a few breeders in our area and couldn't justify the prices for a companion dog. If we were going to show or breed I would have spent the money but we found this and met the parents a d fell in love. Please everyone don't shun me for doing it.
Thanks for the comments though!!!

We won't shun you. It happens as much as we would like it to not to :) It isn't because they don't sometimes have nice dogs it is because of the heartbreak from people that have ended up with seriously sick dogs or ones with serious temperament issues. Keep posting pics and ask questions if you have them. In the end we will all wish you well with your puppy and hope you are one of the lucky ones that gets a healthy stable puppy. It is what we hope for anyone whether from a "reputable" breeder or BYBer.

Ya I understand the health issue and really do hope(hope only
Goes so far) that we will have a very health dogue that will remain that way throughout his life. Our boxer was from a byb and lived for 11.5 years before passing at home in my arms oct 19th. :-(.

the BYBer covers allot of puppy's out there, yes you are getting a puppy from a none registered breeder but from the look of it the breeder is helping you make a good start with your baby, by letting / inviting you to visit the puppy it is,
1 getting to know you.
2 the other puppy's, its litter mates are getting human socialization ,with means when other new puppy owners visit there puppy's yours will get it as well
so you don't have the knowledge of the blood line
have you had chains to meat and play with the parents, to see there temperament,if so where you happy with them,
the last thing you don't know the health of the blood line, this can be a big worry but you have done the research about the health problems with the ddb's
then with good nutrition socializing, regular health cheeks and good training from you, you should have a ddb you can love, play with and enjoy each others company for as long as god gives you him, if you need any help with any thing some one on here will have the answer for you, i know they have help me out a lot, thank for reading

Ya we have met the parents and are great and well behaved. We have been tryi g to go once a week to visit and play and the house they are coming from has another dog in it besides the mom there has been other people there from kids to seniors when we have been visiting so he is for sure gettin socialized. Last time when we went someone was actually holding him when we showed up. He is quite the snuggler. I know my wife will help to mild that side and ruin the big tough dog that I want haha.

We are going to switch Knox to raw diet after his food that comes home with him as his "puppy package" is gone. We think that he will be subject to enough changes when he comes home that a stable diet at the beginning is the least we can do for him. Also our son who is 8 will be away for that weekend so Knox will have a bit of a quiet couple days to adjust befor he meets roan. Who has no idea we are getting a new dog yet :).

Thanks for all of the offers of help am advice. Tht is why I joined here because I know that I will have lots to learn as I go on top of what I have tried to learn already.

Thanks for the comments. I'm gladit's not just me being bias. Starting to stress a bit about the homecoming and sleeping at night. Our boxer was amazing he never whine from the day we brought him home but the breeder is saying right now the puppies are up every two hours through the night and that when she brought the mom home she whined for two weeks !!!! Ugh

LOL! It is a lot like having a baby in the home. Get used to no sleep for a bit and then once he is sleeping through the night you will hardly remember when he wasn't.

Just remember to take up the water and make he gets lots of pee breaks before going to bed at night. I used to set my alarm to wake but up at about 3 am for the first week so that we didn't chance an accident.

Yeah until he is crate trained I would take the water up at 8pm and then start taking him out until you are ready for bed. Then take him out when you get home and I think you will be fine if someone can take him out at 6 or 7 am.

Gorgeous!!!!

I totally feel like I have a newborn in the house and Lexie is now 20 weeks. It has gotten much better over the last 2-3 weeks. She has started sleeping through the night and wakes at 5:30 am sharp every morning. The first few weeks we were up around 2 am and again around 6.
