Ka-bar growth chart

Okay, we got Ka-bar when he was 8 weeks one day old. We got him from a breeder who is new to it and had I known what I have learned in the past month I would have done things differently but it is what it is at this point.

Ka-bar is a very good puppy and he has had a few issues with knuckling, itchy skin and then this stupid bump on his leg. The knuckling has corrected itself the itchy skin we are working on by treatment and food change and the lump on the paw is still up in the air. I will post pictures on here as I take them Friday and I will let you guys see this journey. For some reason the pictures don't load very well but we will do what we can. I am taking him to the vet every Friday morning to put him on the scale so these are accurate to the same scale each week. Only the very first weigh in was on a different vets scale. We have pictures from each day but the ones posted here I am pretty sure go along with the date he was on the scale and the weight listed.

Well, the "breeder" was free feeding him puppy food with extra calcium. I asked about brand of food but was not familiar with it at the time so I didn't know till later when I went to the store and saw the crap he was on. I switched to another food till I could do some research and the Vet said to feed a little less do to the knuckling. Even tho he was free feeding at the breeders he was underweight because it was mostly yellow corn he was eating. I think he was underweight and now he is catching up. We have him all up to date on shots he is house broken, clean and eating grain free.

Well, he has a large bowl of water and can drink free anytime. As far as eating he eats three times a day. We had only been feeding 3/4 cup 3 times a day because of the knuckling issue. Now that that is done we moved to 1 cup 3 times a day. We just switched to Earthborne and he loves it. We also have been feeding green beans and peanut butter. We also put in cocunut oil and eggs. Not all that every day but we rotate those foods in his dog food.

We also bathe him then we rub him down in a good quality cocunut oil. This is not all me I have gotten great advice from a very nice lady on this forum and it has made a huge difference.

Ka-bar is the knife of the Marine Corp and since English mastiffs were once known as war dogs it seemed to fit for a unique manly name.
