Jade & Odi's litter came early

Eyes opened 2 days ago, I have been trying to get some shots of those blue BB eyes but if they are not sleeping or eating they are squirming all over.

they are beautiful,jade and odi sure produced some stunning pups.chunky as well,how much do they weigh now.I know its been hard work for you but you must be proud.I still want the black one lol

Katniss weighed 5lbs this morning. The rest are from 4 to 4.5 lbs. No unicorns here just fawns and ultra brindles.

Last night Jade was taking a break outside the pen. She has a nice Carr Hart bed just outside the box. I went in to check on things and panicked because I counted 6 and Katniss was gone! I looked at Jade and she rolled back to show me Katniss under her arm nursing away all by herself. Jesus, she climbed up out of a 6 or 7 inch high barrier!! I left them alone for for now, but when I went back to put her away she was back in the pen sleeping like a baby. This big girl is going to be a handful!

Last night I set up the potty area in the pen. This morning Katniss gets up walks on over and does her duty in the right place. This is a 14 day old puppy. She has also started howling when she is hungry or wants attention. I am going to catch her on video doing this is the cutest thing you have ever seen.

Beautiful puppies. Katniss is stealing your heart (big softee) and I suspect that she and the unicorn will remain with you. Handful or not, I hear pride in your posts. As for Katniss being a handful...Odi's genes are there working their magic....smarter than the average Boerbel. Oh, yes, buckel your seatbelt, you are in for the ride of your life, and you will love every minute of it.

She is already living up to her name. She is the strongest of the litter howls, and growls pushes the others aside if she needs to and she even already knows to go potty in the right area. Another thing is if I am near the pen she is either seeing me or smells me and will come to the edge and look right at me and yelp for attention. I understand they can't hear yet but she seems to be able to either feel the vibrations of my voice or she is already hearing. She is spooky advanced for a 15 day old puppy.

If I had the room I would keep both, but my partner seems to think that I can not keep another female around Jade. I hope she will consider keeping her for our line of Boerboels. Last night I left the door off the pen so Jade could take a break. I still have a bed on the floor next to the pen and in the middle of the night I hear growling so I wake up and find Katniss has climbed out and was laying on my neck growling in her sleep. I picked her up and set her back in but then she started howling so I set her back on the bed and she went right to sleep. It will be real hard to give her up.

Hard to give any up.

So beautiful... I wish I could take one, but my house is full with one Mastiff. A Boerbel, no matter how endearing.. Oh, and they are endearing... but, no more sweet puppies here. Boo Hoo! But Katniss, how could you relinquish such a girl!? She's amazing, and she knows who her Daddy is (meaning you!) By the way...how is Odi fairing? Poor old man,.deed done and he's a pathetic outcast.

Odi loves his babies and wants to be near them all the time but Jade only lets him peek his head in. The babies know he is there and climb right up on his face. Then Jade gets upset so I have to make him move back.
The other night I was startled awake by a dog fight noise and found that Odi was guarding the puppies against Dozer who tried to wake me for a potty break. Odi will not let Duncan or Dozer near us even when Jade in in the pen. Odi has taken a step up the ladder and is equal or higher than Dozer now, no one was hurt in the scuffle Odi is still a very gentle giant, but I have my eye on him. I have a video of the pups going up to You Tube shortly. So stand by!
