My pups have brown stuff in their ears also, in the nooks and crannies on the flap of the ears. I thought it was just dirt and have been wondering about using baby wipes on them. They will let me look in the ear but don't love me doing much more. My puppies also are very itchy on the hind legs on the inside. I have looked for tick and fleas also and see nothing. No bald spots or rash or anything but they just chew the dickens out of it. unless they have a tasty treat like a really cold carrot to hold their attention.
