Hello,i'm Alek i'm from Italy (so PLEASE, try to forgive my bad english) and i'm a Fileiro :).

I actually live with 2 young Filas, 2 boys: Cacique da Senzala is the older one (6 months).... and the little (3 months) Lord do Itanhandu (a son of DA BOSS : Umiri... yeah :p) is the younger. They also have a sister in law... a 2yo Rottweiler but that's another story...:).

I'm a Cafib guy and i fight for the "true" Fila... so u can immagine what i'm gnna say: No blacks,no 10000 pouds dogs.... but what i hope i can do is offert u some facts when and ifwe will talk bout that.

Ayway, nice t meet u all,fila lovers, even if ur dog has more stripes than base color... even if he weights 4000 pounds (btw.. here we use Kilos so it's hard for me figure myself immediatly a weight in pounds).... you are on the right way if u love Filas.... nowu simply need to recocgnize a true Fila :)

Welcome! The little guy certainly has some color on him ... love that look!
Think kilos are about 2.2 pounds so 10,000 pounds = about 4500 kilos.

I would love to have a Fila but they're banned here in Denmark :(

Did you have any of those Co2 filled air rafts? Looked like a war zone in places there, damn. A generator is like a Fila, wish you would of had one once you realize you need it.

I have to say.. i don't really have preferences betwheen hound style and buldog style...BUT i found a remarcable V lips presence in hound style. Actually i donnow why CAFIB is now simply doesn't care bout that: Cruz was clear... U lips.

Anyway i'm more a temperament and health researcher... so i accept the V in mu older boy tillhes strong and healty :p

@Lund: I don't know ur country laws but are u sure u can't ask some kind of permission for it? I'm telling you couse i han an UK frend... he got his Fila even if in UK are banned too... he just had to ask for permission and demostrate he was not a criminal and not psyco :)d

Hi I am ne My name is Kevin I adopted a 2 year old Neapolitan Mastiff off this guy because he said he couldn't handle him, so I took him and found out he had cancer in the brain wich was the problem why he was so aggressive some times, But I one his heart and he one mine I did all I could do to save him in 5 months I lost him.
So I have been looking for another big guy I found this add here a Fila was looking for a home that no one wants to take it on and if he doesn't get a home soon he will be put down. so I joined so I could email the shelter and now I can't find the add, could any one help?
I'm also looking for another Neapolitan Mastiff, Tibetan Mastiff, Spanish Mastiff or a Central Assain.

Welcome Kevin and I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. You gave your buddy a loving 5 months. Thank you for taking him into your home and heart.

I do not know about the Fila in a shelter. Did you do a search on the forum?

Yea thanks I'm sure he was so happy just after a month with me he was so much better and even when he had his bad days he seemed to be so much nicer. I'll try to find that post

@Alek : there is no way to own a Fila in denmark. 13 different breeds are banned along with any X of these.
Law is up for reevaluation early spring 2013 so all doglovers in DK just hopes the list of breeds is not expanded.
These 13 breeds are illegal in denmark except if you had the dog resgistered the dog as yours prior to 17/3-2010

  1. Pitbull Terrier
  2. Tosa Inu
  3. Amerikansk Staffordshire Terrier
  4. Fila Brasileiro
  5. Dogo Argentino
  6. Amerikansk Bulldog
  7. Boerboel
  8. Kangal
  9. Centralasiatisk Ovtcharka
  10. Kaukasisk Ovtcharka
  11. Sydrussisk Ovtcharka
  12. Tornjak
  13. Sarplanina
There also a list of breeds being observed and they are all in danger of ending up on the list :


  1. Anatolsk Hyrdehund
  2. Bullmastiff
  3. Cane corso italiano
  4. Cao Fila de Sao Miguel
  5. Dogo Canario (også kaldet 'Perro de Presa Canario' !)
  6. Iberisk dogge (*)
  7. Maremma
  8. Mastin Espanol
  9. Mastino Napoletano
  10. Polski Owczarek Podhalanski
  11. Rottweiler
  12. Staffordshire Bull terrie

plain stupidity is anyone can see - I can't get why the breed is the one targeted and not the owner...

There is also no legal way to own a Fila in the UK. Alek your friend either doesnt have a real Fila or has smuggled one in or is lying to you because it is not possible to have one here, and you cant get permission from anyone either regardless of your criminal record or lack of one. Its the same for pits, tosa's and dogo argentino. They are banned, end of story. I wish it wasnt the case but it is.
