Cane is 4 and over the last year has calmed down quite a bit. They are renovating the house next door. For the last 6 months there have been workers in and out daily. He is really good about alerting to them and standing out front of me, making himself really big and menacing looking, huffing and barking a bit. He rarely pulls me to the fence or lounges wildly anymore.
I've almost become complacent he is doing so well. This afternoon he was doing his thing letting the guys know that he was on the job. I had told him to leave it and as we were turning to walk to the other side of the yard. One of the guys had picked up a couple of boards and hoisted them up on his shoulder. WHOOPS! Cane whipped around huffed and lunged. He looked like a stallion pawing the air with his front paws. He did this without pulling me off my feet. It was all very controlled. Before he would have pulled me to the fence and acted the fool. Barely had my arm yanked.
I think like most Fila's, Cane can't stand for anyone to lift or hold up anything above their waist.
Sorry, I had to share with people who would understand. LOL
