How shadow saved my dad

My dad is in his late fifties, due to some health problems he doesn't have the best balance. About two weeks ago he was in the basement doing laundry and I was in my room taking a nap. It just so happens my dad lost his balance and fell, because I was upstairs I couldn't hear him yell up to me. I guess shadow heard him yell and went to see what was going on. After about ten minutes downstairs with my dad shadow came running up and started scratching on my door to wake me up. Now at first I thought he just wanted in my room to lay with me, so after I let him in he started scratching to go back out so I let him back out thinking he's just being fussy. Well ten minutes go by and he's at my door again, at this point I'm agitated so when I go to the door he has my dads glasses in his mouth. Thinking he wants me to chase him around I follow him downstairs, now usually he will run in circles from room to room when he wants chased. This time he ran straight to the basement which I though was rather odd. Once I follow him to the basement I realize he actually led me to my dad who was in trouble. Now I always knew CC's were smart but I never imagined he would be able to something like this especially at 8 months. My dad ended up ok with just a bump on his head but after that day my dad has practically spoiled shadow rotten.

That is awesome. Go Shadow! It's amazing how intuitive dogs can be when the situation calls for it. I've heard stories about CCs in particular that give testiment to their intuitive abilities. I know some service dogs are taught how to help their owners with balance problems, maybe you can try something like that with Shadow. He sounds like a very bright boy who would probably catch on quickly. Hope you dad is ok, I'm sure Shadow is golden in his books.
