I got a little question how much do you guys spend on kibble per month?
Or if your a raw feeder how much do you spend per month and how many pounds of meat?
Because I will be buying some thing around 85-90 lbs of raw meat
A month for $130

Between 120-150lbs of meat/bone/organ a month (two growing dogs here) and I'm happy if I spend less than $200 a month. I don't always make it though, especially if Apollo's decided he's headed for a growth spurt again.

I spend around $75 a month to feed my DDB and Beagle.... Blue Wilderness kibble, go through a bag and a half per month (So roughly 36 pounds).

We feed 3 dogs, combined weight of about 325 pounds, translates to 200 pounds of meat a month, 6 pounds a day, on average 1.00 a pound.
Benefits include better skin, no dentals, no UTI's, smaller poops, hardly any farts and not proven but IMPO much less chance of bloat.

LOL! Hmmm lets see we spend about ~$500.00 a month on dog food here but we might have more than the average dogs. For just Raw we spend approx. $200.00/mth as he is still growing and is in a lean stage at the moment so we have had to bump it up.

Are prices that cheap in TX
Yes, as ruthcatrin stated, angelbears gets better prices than I do. I shop at Kroger (they put their meat on huge discount in the morning) and Fiesta Mart. I haven't checked out Asian market but hope to real soon, I heard their prices are even better. I buy all of Titan's steaks and stew meat at Kroger in the morning at $2-$2.50 per steak which weigh about 1/2 lb to 1 lb each and $2.50-$3.00 for up to 2 lbs of stew meat (non-tenderized).

We spend about $150.00 a month for kibble for 3 adult dogs. And it's delivered; comes in 50 lb. bags. They also get a lot of fresh fruit/veggies; couldn't quote a price on that, though, because we already spend $50 a week for produce for the lemurs & us.

Sorry Ruth, I'm not trying to brag. There are at least 4 other raw feeders on here from Texas. When I first started I was paying about 4 to 5 a pound. If others hadn't shared their price list with me I would have been happy when I hit 2 dollars a pound, instead I knew to keep looking and was able to get it down even cheaper. I do empathize with those that don't have the opportunities that I do living in Houston.

Deb, Kroger just had brisket for 1.69 a pound, pretty cheap for beef. Over the Labor day weekend it should be even cheaper.

's'ok lol. Just occasionally makes me jealous. On the other hand I'd not be able to tolerate the heat and neither could Apollo!

We spent about 200 a month on kibble and around 100 on raw.
Can't do strictly Raw because of the hospital work, so Aurora gets raw after work and off and on through out the week.

I don't by a lot of raw, as we grow our own, but when I do buy I never pay over $1.00/lb. I look for whatever meat is on sale at the time, and also several markets in my are have "last day" sales. If they don't sell it today it gets trashed, so you can get it half price usually. We live in southern Indiana.

Too early to tell, since I've only had Mira a month, but at 3 cups a day we've been going through Earthborn's 28 lb. bag pretty slowly. I'm guessing a little over $50 a month at this rate.
