  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

How did you choose the name of your mastiff?

We had a 10 hour drive to pick up our pup. My daughter had recently been in Italy for 6 weeks, and we decided since the pup was a Neapolitan, we should give her an Italian name. We debated the entire drive and came up with Baci...which means "kisses" or "sweet" in Italian. My daughter also said it's a candy over there. Not to be confused with bocce the game. doh. Our lab is "Kizmet", goes by Kizzy. spelled differently (the correct spelling was taken). Predestined fate or fortune. Registered name is Kizmet Three's a charm. If we do ever get another dog I'm thinking "Bill". Just sounds like fun.
Aw, ever since I've "met" your Baci, I have liked the name, but know thats is means kisses/sweet makes me like it even more!!

I wanted Atlas, my hubby wanted Banks (as in Ernie) and we decided on Windsor (our favorite town in England, not the Canadian booze...ha!). Official name= King of the Castle Windsor. Our lab, Oz, as in the great and powerful :)

When we adopted Lincoln his name was Bubba Chunk.
We decided to change it to either Lincoln, or Winston.
We have a strech of road here that is called the Lincoln Alexander and my GPS said "Merg onto the Lincoln Alexander" my kids said it was a sign that his name was to be linc since it was the first thing the GPS said after leaving the house to get him

Our EM is "Brinks"- Brinks was a home security company (now called ADT) but they still have armored trucks. Either way we thought the name seemed to fit the breed well. :)
His nickname is "Baby Puppy" - because he rolls to his side to get his tummy scratched whenever we say it and it makes us laugh.

Originally, we were set on the name Roxy. Then we watched the new Les Miserables movie, basically two weeks before we picked up our new puppy, and loved the character Cosette's name. Since my girl is an Italian Mastiff, we thought it would be cool to change it to Cozetta. We didn't decide until we picked her up and had her for a day. Roxy just didn't fit, but Cozy was perfect! So that's our story:)

Awww, thanks powergc. We think she's pretty kissable. Altho I have to say I'm glad she's not a licker. That tarp tongue would drench my whole body. lol

Loki got her name because when we adopted her, she was named Stripes. She isn't stripped, she is brindle. It was a dumb name given to her by dumb people (they abused her).
So we knew we wanted to pick a new name, as a sign of her new life with us. We got her home and she was such a trouble maker. I always ended up calling her trouble maker, or a more vulgar version of the term when she was really bad. lol. Loki, the god of mischief seemed well suited. I know Loki was usually a mans name, but it doesn't sound very masculine, and Loki doesn't look very feminine. In the mythology Loki appears in many forms, even sometimes as a woman.
I guess you could say that the name just suited her.

My 2yr old grand daughter LOVES Mickey Mouse playhouse and Clarabelle (the cow) is their friend. So it just fit, our new dog is suppose to be big so Clarabelle is her name.

My hubby usually names the boys after professional wrestlers(jeez)...Vader afer big Van Vader, Koloff after Nikita Koloff, Cayenne(female and I named her as she sure was a spicey girl) and now Brodie-after Bruiser Brody(she was supposed to be a boy but the name stuck and we just addied the "ie". Her full name is Brodie Faye-very southern

When we went to pick up our first CC we had a number of names we were considering on which we debated upon the whole hour drive to pick her up.
When we got to the breeders and he let the pups out there were three to pick from, my wife and son fell instantly in love with one pup and my son called her to him saying Zoey and she came so that was her name.
Our 2nd cc we had picked out when she was only 5 weeks old and had to wait for 5 more weeks to pick her up, My wife and I wanted to name her Lucy because she is red like Lucille Ball (Whom I detest but that is another story) It would have been fun to be able to say to her "Lucy you got sum spalnin to do"
Alas my son didn't like it so we decided on the name Abby after Abby on NCIS as she is a smart and strong woman with some attitude and boy does the name fit her.
Her middle name is Peaches after her mother so it is Abigale Peaches when we get pissed off lol.
