Help ! Clear fluid running through the nose

Hello Everyone, want your expert opinion about this problem. Simba is running clear fluid(Just like water) through his nose. Its been like this for couple of weeks. Last week I took him to a vet who is all about $$$, He proposed a $200 bill which includes couple of injections and pills(Antibiotic and Anti inflammatory) , I declined the shots but got the pills instead. He asked me finish the bottle of Anitbiotics and asked him to see once the bottle is done. Highly overpriced. Also I have read so many good things about Coconut Oil (organic and unrefined) and started feeding him, he absolutely loves it. But anyways, any suggestions on the clear running fluid?

Thanks 10418989_10153005122034433_5116908323455025326_n.jpg10898335_10153005121789433_5548521306999326998_n.jpg

My dog get clear runny noses sometimes, when I took him to the vet they told me not to worry unless it changed to a thick yellow consistency, the dog's behavior changes (lethargic, not eating), or they have a fever. Said it could just be seasonal allergies (was a high pollen time). I try to avoid antibiotics unless it is really necessary, and if you take them, would recommend also giving a probiotic.

Dogs can also get colds just like humans and sometimes it can take awhile to cure itself. My vet has told me that unless it is having a severe adverse effect on their quality of life its best to just let it run its course.

Thank you all for the replies. All the other activities are quite normal no issues. I will stop using antibiotics and will continue to watch him.

Vets are very quick to prescribe antibiotics. I agree, stop antibiotics unless it becomes green or yellow discharge or accompanied by a persistent, productive cough.

I think I'd find a new vet... clear discharge is not a problem that antibiotics would help... and antibiotics wreak havoc on the natural immune system.
I agree with Deb, if there were bacterial infection, you would see some major color (yellow or green) and it would be sticky stuff.

Clear, loose nasal drip I don't think is a problem at all.

Could just be dry in the house, so the sinuses are staying flushed - which is a good way to keep germs and viruses OUT of the body.
