  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Gus the Crimestopper

I crawled out of bed to go to Safeway and get some Ice Cream this sunday afternoon. I have Gus on the leash and hear a HELP HELP scream from a lady behind me on the sidewalk. I turn around and see this dude running towards us with her purse, I tried to grab him with my free hand but he pulled free. So I let Gus go, not knowing what he would do. (Kisses? Nothing?) He ran, jumped and slammed the guy into a car and onto the ground and started chewing on him. The guy was getting up when I got there, I swung him back down into the middle of the road, where I layed the boots to him while Gus kept him pinned down, then some more people joined us and I ripped the purse out of his hands. I am so proud of my boy, I was blown away!!!

Few things:

1. LOL.
2. Now that that's out of the way: it goes to show that properly trained mastiffs simply do not need to be trained to guard - it is inherent. You said: "So I let Gus go, not knowing what he would do. (Kisses? Nothing?)" shows that you have him trained well but that like a Mastiff should he will step in when the situation requires.
3. I bet the would-be thief will regret the day he tried to steal to steal a purse on a sidewalk on Sunday.

Also, Gus is a great name, we had a golden named Gus.

You go, Gus!! Good Boy!! Did you call the cops? What did the lady say upon receiving her purse back? Stupid Purse-snatcher!!

Someone called the cops. The lady was white as a ghost and wasn't in the thanking mood, she looked to be in shock. It should also be noted that when 2 more men joined in to help me, one of them jumped on the man's back. Gus lunged at him as well, but I was able to stop him. He's smart but I guess you can't expect him to fully comprehend when a situation like that gets complicated by more people (strangers).

Yea, I am sure she probably was in shock. And, naahhh, can't blame Gus for being a little confused. I'm sure he was thinking "I got this covered!" :)
