  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Freaking out!!

My poor Mack has been having trouble with cherry eye the last month, and i learned how to massage it back in, weelllll , it is popping out more and more often , i got to the point where i was fixing it like 10 times a day and finally yesterday it was so bad it just won't go back in. :( so next week he is scheduled for double cherry eye surgery.... I watched a YouTube video on the surgery and am now panicking. It looks so horrible! My poor baby! Next week he will be one week shy of 6 months...

Have any of you had your babies go through this surgery? And one other question, the doc couldn't get him in till the 19th, and I can't get this cherry eye put back in, will it be ok to be there for a whole week??? Ugh, I'm just so upset :( wwaahhhhh!!!

I have no experience with Cherry eye but I am sorry to hear that this is happening. Poor little guy. I am sure more experienced folks will be commenting soon. Good luck and I am keeping you both in my thoughts.

Not sure how old he is but don't be surprised if the vet tries to get you to alter him at the same time.

Good luck.

My first one had it in both eyes about 13 years ago had them tacked and she was fine. From what I can remember it was not that bad on her no problems good luck

Although I have had no experience personally with it, I know a lot of people who have had to have them removed. I have not heard of any one having issues with the removal. The tack on the other hand I know people who had to have it done multiple times until they demanded it was removed.

I've had the cherry eye on a rescued St Bernard a couple of years ago... There's nothing to worry about.. If vets here in India can do it, I'm pretty sure that with all the extras available to vets in the US, it'll be a breeze!

You'll be in my thoughts :)

Thank you all so much! Makes me feel a lot better.

I guess this doc prefers the tack down, but I have heard so many say it doesn't work. But at the same time I don't want him to have dry eyes either... Ugh I don't know what to do :/

We haven't dealt with it, but our breeder stressed the removal surgery if it does happen...from what it sounds like, tacking doesn't necessarily last. He also emphasized that cherry eye doesn't really bother the dog; it just looks bad to us! Try not to worry too much (though I know I would be, too) and our thoughts are with you two!!

Awe thanks so much. Everyone is so sweet here and I thank you all for that.

I just worry because I know if left untreated it can get infected and or rupture.. So I know it is nothing I can just leave alone. I just worry about my babies that's all lol
