First Heat

My dog just started her period. She is about 10 months old. Doing well so far. Just started bleeding heavier 2 days ago so I think the proestrus stage started little over a week ago? She's getting used to the diapers now. Is it true that when a female Corso hits her first heat she's finished growing taller?

Typically any dog over a year is done growing as far as height goes, I don't know if heat cycles play into it much as there are some corso (not a lot) that have cycles that start as early as 6 months and they continue to grow.
