Can anyone give me some info about Fila breeders, or upcoming shows where I could see some dogs in person? Also like to talk to some owners of course!
my bad, lol!!! I am so out of the loop on breeders. guess I will have to get familiar again, I don't think my breeder is going to breed anymore. Maddie is an ass too!I heard that Cynthia moved to Texas a couple of years ago. Cane is from Nodib. I've had a lot of health problems with him, mainly skin and ear issues. He cost me about 2 hundred a month in medical bills not including that we feed raw to help with this. He also has terrible separation anxiety. Some of that is my fault but when he was a pup if I left him he would break out all under his chin. It just wasn't worth it to leave him.
That being said, he is an asshole and that is why I got him. He hates people and he doesn't hide it.
LOL I think a good behaviouralist will definitely turn him into a gentleman.he is an asshole and that is why I got him. He hates people and he doesn't hide it.

I have an 80 yr old grandfather living with me, you bet a fila would be a safe dog to protect your mom, as puppies they can be quiet mischievous and bratty like any other pup, the difference is they are very sensitive to their owners need. It doesn't take much for them to start behaving. they are naturally very submissive and gentle with family members. As for why I'm interested, I want a guard dog, but just as important, I want a loyal, devoted, affectionate dog. From what I've read, seems no other breed is as devoted as a Fila! Our family has bred and raised Chinese Shar Pei for over 20 years. I want to try a new breed. Also, I like the fact that a Fila protects naturally. I don't want to spend 20k to have a GSD or Malinous trained to do same thing. I am more than willing to take a Fila pup for extensive obedience classes. Also, we very rarely have company at home. Another big reason is my 80 yr old mother lives with me. Would a Fila trained properly be safe dog to protect her? She still gets around really well.
I have to say, the "This dog is only for people with experience with a dominant breed" is confusing me a bit. If a person followed that train of thought, they would never get a dog like that. So, how would a person ever get experience owning a dominant dog breed? Or do they mainly mean a responsible person such as myself? I really have my heart set on a Fila, but I will not get one If I have any doubts about being able to handle a breed such as this one. It wouldn't be fair to the dog. Any insight into my question?
