English Mastiff Puppy

Hi all. First post here and we just added a female dark brindle English Mastiff puppy to our household.

Just picked her up last night at 8 weeks old. What a beautiful girl...I will take some pictures and post them here. We also have a Mini Schnauzer male who is now three years old and is attempting to assert his dominance(and humping even though he is fixed) already over the puppy(boy is he in for a big surprise when she grows up) though I hear the EM tend to be pretty passive toward other dogs.

I seeked this forum out so I could be part of the online community of Mastiff lovers/owners.

Thanks for saying so.

I cannot believe how these dogs eat. she literally smashes her face into the bowl of food and doesn't come up for air until it's all gone. I've slowed her down some by put a rock in the middle of her bowl - that seems to work right now!!! LOL. Need to get that on video camera though.

haha yea, I think it has to do with them thinking they have to eat what they can ebfore the brothers and sisters get it all !!!! Our pup was like that in the beginning... I would sit with her andput my hand in the bowl to slow her down.... also to get her used to people being aroun when she eats......She has calmed down alot now.... god I love her ! hahaha just thinking about her puts a smile on my face !!!! Congrats on the new pup, shes beautiful !
