back when I showed(early 90's), the judges gave the Filas a wide berth. like 10ft or more, the owner/handler showed the bite, the gait, the skin. Filas showed always be a hands off breed. why would you want to have a Fila that allowed others to touch them or even approach them? I would have stuck with my Dogos only, if that was what I wanted.

What were some of the lines in the 90s that showed awesome temp? I was thinking of showing my girls in iabca next year, what's your thought on them?

Wow!! The male at around 4 minutes, looks super friendly and pretty much like anyone could pet him. I have never seen a Fila in person, just read about them and watched a lot of videos lol. I have heard pretty much that no Fila should ever allow itself to be touched by a person outside of the immediate family, ever. Anyway, my mom saw a Fila puppy at a rare breed show years ago when I was super young, her friend went to see if he could pet the puppy and the owner said back off now, pup was 5 months old.

My sister got a female fila in October and she didn't know a thing about the breed. The guy that sold to her gave her a simple explanation and my sister bought her, went home and did her research- and was surprised. i've been looking into getting a mastiff for a while so i did know a bit about the breed and the minuet she told me what kind of mastiff she got i told her that that puppy was going to be coming over to my house every day!! so that she got VERY familiar with me, my husband, and our kids. i watch her 2 year old 5 days a week so it wasn't much for me to start watching the puppy too. when i first started watching her a couple missionary's from my church came by and Phila (that's what they named her- its Greek for loving i guess. lol. we have a weird sense of humor in our family) wasn't happy with them being there- she was maybe 10weeks (at most) they stopped by again 2-3 weeks later and they had to keep some distance. shes an Amazing Beautiful dog! and i cant believe that dog let the guy touch his balls! crazy
